Lavon Provost scrapbook relating to the Heber Tabernacle
Scope and Contents note
The Lavon Provost scrapbook relating to the Heber Tabernacle is the four folders of photocopied newspaper clippings, photographs, documents, and correspondence relating to the saving and renovation of Heber Tabernacle also known as the Wasatch Stake Tabernacle. In the mid-1960's the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints made a decision to abandon the tabernacle located in Heber City, Utah, for destruction. Local citizens and long time members of the Church began a campaign to save the structure. It took two decades and the tabernacle was finally transferred to be used as a city office building.
