Scope and Contents note

The first item is a bound work of poetry entitled "Heart-Peace" containing Mary Noel Rigby's poems regarding nature, philosophy and a things of a spiritual nature. The second is a work entitled, "My Babies" which has poems and personal stories of her experiences with her children. The third item is entitled "Golden Wedding October 1948" which is a written account of the stories told by her parents, Frank Leland Noel and Mary Eliza Roberts, at the occasion. This is accompanied by a collection of poems, "Papa and Mama", as a tribute to Mary Noel Rigby's parents. The fourth item is a collection of vignettes entitled "Tender Times" which accounts her life from a teenager to a seasoned and experienced woman looking back in reflection (1912-1983). It portrays Mary's experiences growing up on a Navajo Indian Reservation in New Mexico and living in different parts of Utah.

Biographical History

Mary Noel Rigby was born in 1907 to Frank Lealand Noel and Mary Eliza Roberts. Her poems are undated but her life vignettes date from 1912-1983. She has accounts from New Mexico, Utah and California.

Abstract

The collection consists of four items of Mary Noel Rigby's poetry and written vignettes of her life. She entitled sections of her poetry Nature, Philosophy and Spiritual. She writes vignettes primarily about her home life spanning from her childhood with her parents to her own experiences as a mother.
