Scope and Contents note
Anna Christina "Teenie" Smoot's original handwritten diary. There is also a 42-page typescript with a three page letter by a grandson, F. T. Letchfield, Jr. The letter explains Smoot's handwriting and personality, and gives a brief summary of her life. The journal discusses Smoot's social life, work, family, Utah's statehood and politics, and church life.

Biographical History
Anna Christina "Teenie" Smoot was a daughter of Anna Kirstine Morrison (or Mauritzen) Smoot, fifth wife of Abraham Owen Smoot. She had an older brother named Owen, and a younger sister named Alice. She was born on 7 June 1858 and passed away on 2 March 1904. She married George Shephard Taylor on 9 February 1882.
