Biographical History

Thomas H. Steele (1927- ) is a collector of movie memorabilia and worked in sales.

Thomas H. Steele was born on December 2, 1927. He lived in Hollywood, California from 1956-1971 and visited movie studios, went to advanced screenings, and attended the Academy Awards twice. He began collecting in 1934, though he was not a part of the movie industry. Steele worked for a publishing house in advertising and sales, collecting and following the film industry as a hobby.

Three cartons of sheet music, which were originally part of this collection, were sent to David Day, curator for Music and Dance. Also, three cartons of books, which were originally part of this collection, were sent to the General Book collection.
