Brent Michael Holmes (1935- ) was a teacher, soldier, and mailman.

Brent Michael Holmes was born January 14, 1935 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to parents Harold Harper Holmes and Audrey Muriel Berger Holmes. He grew up in the small town of Victor, Idaho and began attending Idaho State College in Pocatello in 1953. Between 1955 and 1958, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Swiss-Austrian mission. Upon returning, he continued at Idaho State College where he graduated with a degree in German in 1960. Holmes married Pauline Nash, whom he met at school, on June 17, 1960 in Logan, Utah. They had two children, Curtis and Michelle. Holmes earned a master’s degree in German and English from Brigham Young University in 1966. He worked as a teacher throughout his graduate studies and until his Army reserve unit was activated in 1968, after which he fought in the Vietnam and Korean wars. He earned a bronze star medal in 1969 and became a chaplain in the US army. Throughout his life, Holmes enjoyed musical pursuits and church service, and he served in many different church leadership positions. After several tours at various domestic and international locations, he moved his family back to Pocatello, Idaho, where he worked for the United States Postal Service as a shuttle driver and letter processor. Holmes and his wife currently reside in Pocatello, Idaho.
