Administrative History

Zion's Cooperative Mercantile Institution was founded in 1868 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was claimed as one of the earliest department stores of the U.S. It was owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until it was sold off to the department stores Meier & Frank and Dillard's in 1999.
