Scope and Contents note

Handwritten journal of Anders Fredericksen, in Danish. 79 photocopied pages, circa 1860-1884. There is also a copy of the journal translated by Charles R. Clement and a 1980 Fredericksen family newsletter. The journal contains the early life story of Anders Fredericksen, his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denmark, and ends with his emigration to Zion in 1884.

Biographical History

Anders Fredericksen was born May 13, 1845 in Hormsted, Hjoring, Denmark. He married Inger Marie Madsen March 14, 1863 in Elling, Denmark. They had twelve children. Anders was baptized into the LDS church on March 3, 1868 and emigrated to Utah from Denmark in 1884. He died March 20, 1929 in Springville, Utah.
