Materials from and information concerning the Paris Theatre and the Museum of Modern Art in New York City is also included.

Biographical / Historical

Lillian Nadel Gerard was born November 25, 1914, to Harry Nadel and Sadie Wiener, in the Bronx, New York. She studied at Bernard Baruch College. She had a career in publicity and advertising. In 1936, she was hired as an importer of foreign films and publicity and advertising for the movie "The Eternal Mask," which lead to many subsequent foreign film exhibition and marketing endeavors. Throughout her career, Lillian was an executive of the Paris Theater in Manhattan. She was also a consultant to the Rugoff Theaters, the Little Carnegie, and the Fifth Avenue Cinema. Lillian was married to Philip Gerard, who also worked in the motion picture promotion industry. Lillian Gerard passed away January 27, 2003, in Manhattan.

Biographical / Historical

Philip Richard Gerard was born on August 23, 1913, to Abraham Gabowitz and Rose Burg. Philip had a career in motion picture advertising, publicity, and production, primarily with Universal Pictures. He married Lillian Nadel, who also worked in the motion picture promotion industry. Philip died on May 15, 2004.
