A. A. Noon papers
Scope and Contents
The Alonzo Arthur Noon papers consist of six journals, four scrapbooks, and one "Deed and Letter Book" of Alonzo Noon, kept between the years 1860-1910, as well as one journal of his son, Henry Adolphus Noon, kept from 1885-1887. Alonzo Arthur Noon's journals and scrapbooks cover the time period when he was living in South Africa as well as the time he spent living in Provo, Utah as a juvenile court judge.

Henry Noon (1865-1889) was a Mormon miner in Tintic, Utah in the 1880s.
Biographical History
Alonzo Arthur Noon was born 28 June 1838 in London, England to Charles Peter Whitaker and Susan Jane Noon. In his teens he traveled to Australia and then to India before moving to South Africa, where he had a plantation with his brother, Adolphus Henry. Alonzo immigrated to Utah in 1864/1865 and married Annie Jane Smith in Nebraska while enroute. He spent the rest of his life in Provo, Utah and was involved in mining and various other businesses, as well as serving as a judge for more than twenty years. He died in 1911.
