Marilyn McMeen Miller Brown papers
Scope and Contents
Collection consists primarily of Brown's correspondence, and notes, dated approximately 2002 to 2003, regarding her work prior to the publication of the novel of Richard Dutcher's film Brigham City. Also contains notes and manuscript drafts of Brown's novels, dated approximately 1997 to 2007, and her email correspondence with the Association of Mormon Letters, dated 2002 to 2004.

Biographical / Historical
Marilyn McMeen Miller Brown, born 1938, is a writer from the Utah Valley area. She graduated from Brigham Young University with BA and MA degrees in creative writing. She also earned an MFA degree from the University of Utah in 1992. She has published over a dozen novels, several poetry books, and two musical plays. She worked as an editor for Brigham Young University Press, a freshman English Teacher, and a manager of her own publishing company. She and her husband Bill are co-founders of the Villa Institute of the Performing Arts in Springville, Utah, established in 1996. She has raised one child of her own and five step-children.
