Scope and Contents
Includes approximately 430 glass plate negatives made by O. Frederick Lewis between 1900 and 1916, as well as a scrapbook of the LDS Indian Center (not made by O. Frederick Lewis). Prints were made of the negatives by the Photograph Archives. Materials dated 1900-1916.

Biographical / Historical
O. Frederick Lewis (1882-1969) was an early photographer in the American West. Orson Frederick Lewis was born January 6, 1882 in Alpine, Arizona to Samuel Edward Lewis and Daphne Jane Hamblin. He married Margaret Roxie McNeil on October 8, 1903. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including foreman and farmer. He died April 20, 1969 in St. Johns, Arizona.
