Biographical History
George Teasdale was born in London, England on 8 December 1831. He was baptized into the LDS Church on 8 August 1852. He was chosen as president of the Somerstown branch of the London conference and later the Cambridge conference. In 1858 he presided over the Wiltshire, Landsend and South conferences and in 1859 he was put in charge of the Scottish mission, which included the Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Dundee conference. In 1861 he was released to come to Zion. His means were exhausted from his missionary labor and he and his family had to take passage in the steerage of an emigrant ship called the "Underwriter." In Florence, Nebraska he assisted Elder Jacob Gates in keeping the accounts of the emigration, so did not leave there until the last company of the season arrived. In 1882 he was called as one of the Twelve Apostles. He died 9 June 1907.
