Typescript of William Carter's mission journal to East India. Relates his call, his journey from Utah to California, his ocean voyage to India, and his missionary labors in Dinapore and Calcutta. Also describes homeward journey via Boston, Mass.

Biographical / Historical
William Fulsbury Carter (1811-1888) was born in Newry, Maine. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a mission for the Church to India. He married five wives, one of which died in Winter Quarters in 1847. He settled in Utah County, Utah, with his five wives and forty children. He died in Santaquin, Utah.
