Frank Whitaker interview with Albert E. Haines
Scope and Contents
Typescript of an interview conducted by Frank Whitaker on 29 Jan. 1985 for Hillam's War Project at Brigham Young University. Haines talks about his training in the United States Army, his deployment to combat in October 1944 as a platoon leader, and his participation in the battles of the Hurtgen Forest and the Bulge. He was severely wounded by machine gun fire on 13 Jan. 1945.

Haines was a colonel at the time of the interview. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was 19 years of age in 1941.
