Biographical / Historical
Jay was born in northern Arizona in 1921 on a family ranch. He served a full-time mission in the Eastern States Mission and then in the military during World War II. He attended Utah State Agricultural College where he met and married Leona Fairbourn Turley. They taught in seminaries, institutes, and Jay taught religion at BYU.
