Ezra F. Richards diaries, letters, and newspaper clippings
Scope and Contents
Photocopies of microfilm copies of handwritten diaries. In the first diary, Richards, told about his experiences in New Zealand as a missionary for the Mormon Church from 1885 to 1888. He worked with the Maori people. Also included are his correspondence while he was in New Zealand at that time. Also included is a second diary Richards kept while he was on another mission to Australia and New Zealand from 1896 to 1897. He wrote about his missionary activities at that time. Some of the entries are partially in the Maori language. Newspaper clippings in Maori are also with the collection.
