Autobiography details memories of his childhood in Georgetown, Idaho; attendance at the University of Utah, 1935-1943 and 1948-1950; church service, including a Mormon mission to the Northwestern States, 1939-1941; service in the U.S. Army, 1943-1946; attendance at Brigham Young University, 1946-1947; marriage; experiences while teaching at BYU; significant information on the English Department at BYU; retirement; and travels. Includes copies of correspondence and evaluations from his students. Also includes a volume of selected essays and other writings written by Bruce Clark.

Biographical History

Bruce Budge Clark (born 1918) was an English professor and academic administrator in Utah.

Bruce Budge Clark was born on April 9, 1918 in Georgetown, Idaho to Marvin Ezra Clark and Alice Clark. He attended Brigham Young University from 1946 to 1947, and later joined the faculty. He worked at the university as an English professor between 1950 and 1992. He also served as English Department chair (1960-1965) and dean of the College of Humanities (1965-1981).

Clark died on July 7, 2007 in Orem, Utah.
