Vern Oliver Knudsen interviews
Scope and Contents
Bound transcripts of interviews conducted by James V. Mink from 1966 to 1969 for the Oral Histroy Program at the University of California Los Angeles. Knudsen discusses his early life in Utah and his Mormon upbringing, his research work and association with the Bell Telephone Laboratories, his work in various fields of acoustical physics, his work on noise pollution, and his administrative work at UCLA as Dean of Graduate Division and as Chancellor. Knudsen also talks about his mission for the Mormon Church in Chicago, Illinois, from 1915 to 1918 and his other Mormon Church assignments. He also talks about some of his disagreements with the Mormon faith.
