Scope and Contents note
This collection contains the papers and correspondence of Claudius R. Dodge. There are papers and drawings concerning patented inventions. Mr. Dodge’s papers also include improvement ideals, which were prompted by events of the times, evidenced by the great many newspapers present in the collection. The topics of his correspondence are varied, including letters with LDS church authorities, politicians, newspapers, and family members. There is also a brief journal included. The inclusive dates of the collection are 1914-1971.

Biographical History
Clauius R. Dodge (1885-1974) was an LDS inventor, promoter, and businessman from Utah.
Mr. Dodge was born 24 August 1885, near Saint George, Utah. He married Clara Evelyn Taylor on February 17, 1917, and they had at least one son and two daughters. Mr. Dodge was an inventor, promoter, and businessman. He was an LDS church member who was very alert to the world around him. His main business was a dealership operated in Salt Lake City, known as Dodge Bros., started in 1914. Mr. Dodge died May 22, 1974.
