Portion of a diary written by Phelps. Discusses reading the proof of the hymns; writing a letter for the Messenger and Advocate; writing petitions to the Governor of Missouri; dreamt of Sally; three things we should love with all our might (God, country, and rights); attended a feast at Brother Z.S. Coles'; Martin Harris arrived from Palmyra and brought news of mobbings; work on "the house" (Kirtland Temple) is going rapidly; efforts to warm "the house" during the winter; School of the Apostles is being held in "the house." Makes mention of Brothers Fordham, Durfee, Rathburn, Morey, Hitchcock, and Calvin Beibe. Also offers proverb-like commentary throughout the document.
