General Note

Two-part letter: 1) Letter to Sally, Liberty, Clay County, Missouri, from William Wines Phelps, Kirtland Mills, Ohio, dated October 7, 1835. States that he has not heard from them in four weeks and now he has heard that they are all sick and it makes him sad; Sister Stout is with child through adultery by John J. Tanner. [Rest of this letter is missing.] 2) Letter to Margaret from John Corrill. States that news has arrived that people are very sick in Clay County; asks Margaret to tell him about the troubles and sicknesses of the family so that he can pray for them; mentions the "affair of Sister Stout" as being very unhappy.
