Folders contain correspondence, legislative bills, statements, congressional records, reports, and newspaper clippings from 1956 to 1960 in the United States pertaining to the necessity of States' rights to control water within their boundaries as well as the Federal Government's recognition of those rights. Folder 1 also contains letters from residents of Utah in 1959 protesting confiscation of state decreed water in Utah by Federal Agencies. In addition, the second folder contains two congressional reports from 1956 and 1957 about the Western Water Rights Settlement Act of 1956 concerning water rights in the Western United States.
