Scope and Contents

Materials contain letters written by Forest Wright to his son Dennis relating his military experiences. Wright discusses his service as a member of the U.S. Army Transportation Corps, Marine Division during World War II. He tells of several experiences where, as an engineer, he had to deal with problems in the engine room aboard his ship. Also included are photographs of Wright, an article about Merchant Marine veterans, a copy of the Song of the Army Transportation Corps, and Wright's merchant seaman's certificate of identification. Dated 1943-2000.
