Edwin Austin Abbey letters, 1884-1907
Scope and Contents
Handwritten and signed letters. Abbey writes to "Dear Mr. J**" (name uncertain) on "Savile Club, 107, Piccadilly. W." stationary. The item is dated July 31, 1884 and includes a drawing of a small person with a large mouth. Abbey criticizes a recent edition of a publication. Abbey also writes to W. N. Stansfield, secretary of the White Friars Club, on 3 Jan. 1907. The letter is on "Morgan Hall, Fairford, Gloucestershire" stationary. Abbey regrets being unable to accept Stansfield's invitation to dine at the White Friars Club.
