Scope and Contents note
Materials contain the Saints at War Participant Information Sheet for Joseph W. Stobbe, as well as one printed, loose leaf memoir, and one in a spiral bound book. One of the memoirs has photographs throughout. File also includes a CD containing the loose leaf memoir, along with additional pages and photographs. In the memoirs, Stobbe recounts his experiences as an infantry sergeant mostly in France. He draws upon his memories of the war and also his several trips back to France since the war. He has attempted to retrace his company's steps. He mentions his feelings of having been watched over by God several times and of instances where he found bullet holes in his clothing but not in him. Dated approximately 1999-2001.
