Scope and Contents note
Materials contain papers relating to Wilbur T. Braithwaite's military service in the U.S. Army during World War II. Includes a three-page collection of thoughts on and lessons learned from war, original poetry composed by Braithwaite, his Division's newsletter, and an editorial piece describing how the war affected the path of Braithwaite's life after his discharge. Also contains a short, insightful narrative describing the advance of Allied infantrymen through forests laced with German mines, with emphasis on the courage and determination needed to proceed in such a situation. Dated 1988-2000.
