Scope and Contents note
Materials contain a memoir of Verr Dee Leavitt's regarding his service in the U.S. Army during World War II. Discusses his training and combat experiences in Europe. Includes two maps: one showing the location of his U.S. training bases and the other showing his areas of combat in Europe. Contains a hand-written note explaining the enclosed pictures with respective negatives and the nature of the LDS servicemen's conferences. Also contains a photocopied encyclopedia article on the history of World War II. Photographs include: two of Leavitt with other Latter-Day Saint servicemen at Latter-Day Saint conferences in France, one of Leavitt in front of his tent, his training camp photo, one of Leavitt with a small girl, and one with a fellow soldier holding a newspaper announcing the capitulation of the Japanese. Dated 1944-1946, approximately 1980- 2001.
