Materials contain papers relating to the military service of Dale B. Miles in the U.S. Army Medical Corp during World War II from 1945-1946. Describes training, the end of the war, the journey across the United States and then the Atlantic to France and then to Germany. Talks about the other medics, meeting with church members in Firth, Germany, meeting Ezra Taft Benson, president of the European mission, and includes excerpts from Elder Benson’s journal. Describes the conditions in Germany, the state of the citizens, and discusses the Nuremberg trials. Also talks about his responsibilities in the hospital, his furlough in Paris and Switzerland, and his final return home. Also includes photocopied photographs of men in uniform, the General Hospital, the Palace of Justice, and the 1946 war trial. Also includes a 2-page response to the Saints at War questionnaire. He describes the conditions under which he served, his family situation, support he received from his home ward, his interaction with other members of the Church, and his spiritual health. Dated approximately 1946, approximately 2000.
