Scope and Contents note
Materials contain a 150 page memoir written by Wilfrid C. Bailey written in 1985 about his experiences as a medical techinician in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1936-1945. Details his experiences from pre-war Citizens Military Training Camps to formal military training at Camp Grant, Illinois; Ft. Knox, Kentucky; and Camp Bouse, Arizona. Also discusses Bailey's involvement in operations in northern France, the Ardennes, the Rhineland and central Europe. Includes description of the liberation of Mauthausen Concentration Camp. Contains photocopied maps, diagrams, excerpts from historical articles, photographs, and military documents. Dated 1985.
