Contains correspondence primarily between Col. David Booth Gottfredson, his wife Irma Grainger Gottfredson, and his mother Alice Adell Keeler Hatch Gottfredson. Letters are written on V-mail envelopes, vellum paper, stationary, and are contained on V-mail scans. Topics include Col. Gottfredson's work as a surgeon for the 1st military district in the United States Army in North Africa and Italy, his illness and return home, Alice Gottfredson's financial and health issues, Irma's news from Utah regarding her children and other family members, the war effort, and concerns for Col. Gottfredson. Materials dated 1943-1944.
