David E. Lofgren papers, 1942-1998
Scope and Contents
File contains a military history of David E. Lofgren, discussing his service in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European and Pacific Theaters. Lofgren's memories were recorded in 1998 and transcribed through 1999. Lofgren recounts landing in France, serving in jeep reconnaissance in Germany, and serving in the Philippines after the war ended. Also includes copied photographs of Lofgren's bayonet collection and other war memorabilia, copies of his Army discharge papers, a history of the Black Hawks, or 86th Infantry Division, maps of the war, and a timeline of the war. Also contains a book of copies of letters written by Lofgren while he was in the Army. Materials are dated 1942-1998.
