Scope and Contents note
This project is a collection of hand gestures used during conversation. The analysis discusses the purpose of hand gestures, including social attention and to draw a response from someone else. Also discusses how gestures can be interpreted differently, such as differences in location and time. Also comments on workplace hand signals, cliques, clubs, and gangs. Items include a description of different hand gestures, including printed photos of the gesture. Also includes gestures used in the military for communication. Collected by Mikell Murray, Dr. Thursby's ENGL 391 class, Winter 2009.
