 Item — Box: 357, Folder: 12
Identifier: FA 1 Item 4391

Scope and Contents

This project is a collection of stories about snipe hunting while camping. Snipe hunting is a type of practical joke often played as an initiation ritual. The analysis describes how snipe hunting causes embarrassment but also a feeling like those initiated now feel a part of the group. Also comments on the age group that is ideal for snipe hunting, and what it says about the American experience, and speculates on the future of this piece of folklore. 10 items collected. Collected by Kendra Cox, Dr. Rudy's ENGL 392 class, Winter 2008.
