Scope and Contents note
This project is a collection of Mormon marriage proposals and includes the stories of three generations. The analysis describes cultural factors that play into Mormon marriage proposals such as the doctrinal importance of marriage in the Mormon faith, as well as cultural norms such as short dating and quick engagements. The collector also describes cultural background of Brigham Young University students and their high marriage rates. Collected by Alexandria Hill, Dr. Paulsen's Honors 303R class, Winter 2005.
