 Item — Box: 353, Folder: 3
Identifier: FA 1 Item 4309

Scope and Contents note

This project contains folklore and rituals surrounding food and weddings. The analysis comments on how food is woven through many different rituals in a wedding. The collector compares the differences of food in three different types of marriages: marriage by force or capture, marriage through contract or purchase, and marriage through mutual love. The project shares how food has different significance in these three marriage types. Collected by Patti Merrill, Dr. Rudy's ENGL 495 class, Winter 1999.
