Scope and Contents note

This project explores the idea of heroism as defined by participating informants. This 19 item collection includes the following heroes: Ernest Johnson, WWII veteran; The Stig, professional stunt driver; Dick Hoyt, father and race partner with his invalid son; Michael Murdock, BYU history professor; Michael Bublé, popular jazz vocalist; Steve and Marilyn Ashton, adoptive parents to eight mentally challenged children; Joshua Casteel, ex-army peace activist; U.S. Soldiers; Nathan Godfrey, Mormon missionary who died while trying to save a boy from drowning; family members; "Mikey" Monsoor, Navy SEAL who died protecting his unit from an exploding grenade; and everyday citizens who serve when an opportunity presents itself.
