Consistencies in LDS conversion narratives / Jeffrey Pierce, 2007
Scope and Contents note
Pierce examines personal narratives concerning conversion to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, while noting an underlying theme of similar events in each of the stories. These consistencies include: an individual feeling that something is missing from their life, the introduction of the gospel from a close relationship, a pivotal moment that turns the individual to conversion, and obstacles that seemingly fight to keep the conversion from occurring. He explores how personal variations on this theme strengthen the validity of it. Created by Jeffrey Pierce while enrolled in Kristi Young's English391 course during winter semester 2007 at Brigham Young University.
