Materials contain a survey response in which Leo D. Hymas describes the conditions of his military service in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mentions that he cut the fence and opened the Nazi concentration camp at Buchanwald. Contains copies of a military photographs and a later photograph of Hymas. Contains the transcription of an interview conducted with Hymas in which he details his World War II experiences. Also contains transcribed journal excerpts of Lieutenant Ella Matson describing horrors of Buchenwald he witnessed and wrote about. Dated 2001-2002.
