How people get their names / Melani Robison, 2002
Scope and Contents note
Robison analyzes the importance that names serve in a person's culture, and even their very lives. She discusses common sources of names, including family history, tradition, famous people/characters, or simply names that parents are fond of. Robison also includes the practice of making names unique through their spelling, as well as the practice of naming a child after someone you would want them to be like. Created by Margaret McOmber while enrolled in Jacqueline Thursby's English 356 class during winter semester of 2002.
