Scope and Contents note
Satterthwaite explores the family bonding, memory making and tradition making associated with the practice of bedtime stories and songs. Through examination of various generations and cultures, Satterthwaite discusses a good story or song sung at bedtimes in the context of relating history, culture and customs to further generations. In addition, the lasting impact of such tradition on both the parent and the child is discussed. Created by Alissa Satterthwaite while enrolled in Jacqueline Thursby's English 495 course during summer semester of 2005.
