 Item — Box: 297, Folder: 2
Identifier: FA 1 Item 3293

Scope and Contents note

Ashcraft discusses Mormon women's obsessions with creating the perfect chocolate chip cookie, exploring stories told in her own family about individuals seeking to obtain Mrs. Field's chocolate chip cookie recipe. Ashcraft then discusses stories involving people who attempt to get such recipes but are ultimately ripped off by companies who have the recipe. Ashcraft discusses similarities in each of these urban legends and how they continue to perpetuate myths and rumors regarding the recipes that are shared. Ashcraft's collection comes primarily from Idaho and Utah. Created by Amy Ashcraft when she was enrolled in Jacqueline Thursby's English 495 class in spring 2003.
