Scope and Contents

Contains sixty-nine photographs and twenty-nine postcards. The photographs were taken by Teichert during his experience in World War I, and some of the photographs are of his family life. The postcards all date from his time in war, and are of landmarks throughout Europe.

Biographical History

Herman A. Teichert (1887-1982) was a farmer and rancher in Idaho and Wyoming. He was also the husband of painter Minerva Kohlhepp Teichert.

Herman Adolph Teichert was born in American Falls, Idaho, on August 26, 1887. In 1917, he was drafted to fight in World War I. Prior to his leaving, he married Minerva Bernetta Kohlhepp on September 15, 1917. Together, they had five children, four sons and one daughter. The family lived mostly in Idaho, but spent some time in Wyoming, with Herman making a living as a farmer and rancher. Teichert died November 25, 1982, in Montpelier, Idaho.
