Coe discusses the practice of quoting movies, focusing on the use of quotes from comedies. She explains that for a movie quote to have comedic success it needs to fit the tone of the conversation it is used in and it the audience must be able to recognize the quote. She asserts that a funny quote can also be successful when it acts as a release in an argument.
