Hanson records of the experiences of both of his grandfathers while they were in the armed forces during World War II. Hanson also describes the experiences of Lloyd Hanson, who served in the Pacific theater of the war as a navy medic. Hanson recalls both of his grandfathers having nightmares about the war throughout their lives.
