Materials contains Sarah Nordquist's account of her military experiences as a nurse in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War. Talks about her decision to become a nurse, enlisting in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving active duty in Saudi Arabia, and her reason for volunteering to go overseas. Also talks about her responsibilities as a leader to counsel as well as instruct the other nurses. Discusses her responsibilities in taking care of Iraqi as well as American patients, and taking care of NATO forces as well as Bosnians in Bosnia and the interactions between the different militaries that took place there. Explains that the greatest work load came from mental palpation in the military forces and the high stress cases they had to deal with. Explains that her military experience didn’t have much effect on her faith. Finally discusses her positive feelings about serving her country and recognizing the sacrifices that are made in the military. Donated to Nurses at War Project. Dated January 9, 2004.
