Scope and Contents note
Materials contain a history written by John Milton Jones about his lengthy military career. Describes his service during World War II and the Korean War, different battleships Jones spent time on, and different assignments completed aboard heavy minelayer and minesweeper ships. Includes a list of ships Jones rode on, a list of awards received, official letters from the U.S. Navy regarding Jones' service, as well as a copy of an article detailing an initiation tradition when crossing the equator on a U.S. Navy vessel. Also includes copied photographs of Jones in uniform, with his wife Alice Hunt Jones, and with others. Includes a description of the photographs written by Jones. Dated 1942-2003.
