Biographical history

A. A. Turner (1813-1866) was an American photographer.

A.A. Turner was a daguerreotypist and ambrotypist in the 1800s. Most of his work was done in Boston, New York City, Washington D.C., Lynchburg Virginia, and New Orleans. He was married to Hortensia Hockey on March 3, 1852 and on June 1, 1862 he married Annie E. Calloway while still being married to Hortensia. He worked for various photographic companies: B. F. Campbell daguerreotype gallery, Marcus Ormsbee Boston gallery, Matthew B. Brady, Gurney and Fredericks of New York, Minnis Gallery, Cutting and Turner ambrotype gallery, D. Appleton and Company, and New Orleans Photographic Company at 57 Camp Street.
