Donated to the Nurses at War Project, Contains the account of Richard Schulz regarding his service as a nurse in the U.S. Navy during Operation Enduring Freedom from 1992-2004. Talks about the different nationalities and the different military branches he encountered and describes the facilities and the equipment they used. Also describes the high morale, the busy routine,humanitarian missions, med caps he participated in. Goes into detail about his duties on those missions and the good treatment of officers and medics. Describes what he experienced on normal days and describes the different patients that they treated. Discusses the importance of teamwork between the different branches and communication with his family. Finally discusses how important it is for the corpsmen to feel useful and valued, talks about the effect of his service on his life, and talks about the influence of the media on public and military opinion.
