Scope and Contents note
Collection of stories about the Christensen family and their traditions. Christensen asserts that in order to truly understand a family and all its dynamics you must have a family solid knowledge of their past. Christensen explains the different types of storytellers found in the family and how their personal narrative style played a great role in the themes and understanding of the particular story. Christensen suggests that the stories communicated the family's beliefs, concerns and values. She concludes here analysis in describing Bascom's four functions of folklore to further explore the stories as folklore. Created by Andrea Christensen while she was enrolled in Eric Eliason's English 391 class during the fall semester of 2002.
