Scope and Contents note

Material contains an oral interview conducted with Ernal Underwood on four seperate compact disks, discussing his experiences in World War II. Also contains a short history of Underwood and his service in the U.S. Navy. Includes information about the U.S.S. Helena, which was Crawford's ship, contains the Navy Department's story of the Helena's sinking, maps, citations, newspaper clippings, ship log, history of the ship, and photocopied photographs. Also contains photocopies of Underwood's citations, medals, certificates, awards, photographs, and maps. Dated 1941-1945.
